What is Panelbot

Panelbot is an AI support assistant for hosting companies that diagnoses and resolves common customer issues on cPanel and DirectAdmin servers.

An AI support assistant built for hosting companies

Panelbot is a support assistant you add to your hosting business. It lives in the chat window on your billing portal, talks to your customers in plain language, and works out what is wrong with their hosting. For the common, well understood problems it can check the server, explain what it found, and where you allow it, apply a fix. When it is unsure, or a change carries real risk, it hands the conversation to your own team.

It is built specifically for hosting providers running cPanel and DirectAdmin, and it connects to the billing portals those providers already use.

The problem it solves

Most hosting support tickets are the same handful of issues asked in a hundred different ways. Email that stopped sending. A WordPress site showing a white screen. A certificate that expired overnight. An address that a firewall quietly blocked. Each one is routine for a technician, but they arrive around the clock, they interrupt deeper work, and they pile up faster than a small team can clear them.

Your customers do not care that the answer is routine. They care that their site is down and nobody has replied yet. The problem is small; the wait is what hurts.

Panelbot closes that gap. It answers immediately, does the first round of investigation that a technician would do anyway, and either resolves the issue or arrives at your team with the diagnosis already in hand.

How it fits into your business

Panelbot sits between the people and systems you already have, without replacing any of them.

  • You, the hosting company. You connect your billing portal and your servers, decide what the assistant is allowed to do, and keep full visibility over every conversation and every action.
  • Your customer. They open the chat on your portal, describe the problem in their own words, and get help without waiting in a queue or learning which log file to read.
  • Your servers. Panelbot connects to each cPanel/WHM or DirectAdmin server over the panel API with a scoped credential you grant, and carries out only the pre-approved checks and fixes that you have enabled. Nothing is installed on the server and no root is needed; a reseller credential is enough. An optional agent exists for the few jobs a credential cannot reach.

The assistant reads the customer’s message, matches it to a known type of issue, and runs read-only checks on the correct server to confirm what is happening. From there it guides the customer, proposes a fix for your approval, or applies a low-risk fix if you have turned that on. Every step is recorded.

What makes it safe

The short version: the AI never runs anything on its own. It reads the customer’s message and puts findings into words, and that is the limit of its authority. The decision about what to run, on which server, and whether the customer is even allowed to ask, is made in code from a fixed set of pre-approved operations, never by the AI and never from the text of a chat.

That design is deliberate, and it is the reason a skeptical operator can hand this tool a chat window that touches production servers. We cover it in depth in the pages below, because it is the part that matters most.

Where to go next

When you are ready to set it up, Start free on WHMCS or Blesta takes you from sign-up to a live widget with no card, and the onboarding checklist covers the same path as the dashboard walks it.
